Alutitan was founded in the early 1980s, within a group of companies with extensive experience in the aluminum industry and its surface treatments. The new company proudly declares its industrial specialization (extruded aluminum profiles) and its belonging to the small independent state of San Marino (which has had Mount Titano as its symbol for centuries and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008). Alutitan's production capacity developed on an operational area of a 20,000 square meters, of which 10,000 are covered.
In 2001, the entire production plant was completely renovated with the installation of an 1,800-ton extrusion press. After 10 years, a new furnace for heating billets was installed.
Three photovoltaic systems were installed on the roofs of the plants, providing about 400kW. This system guarantees part of Alutitan's electrical needs.
The profiles cooling bench was replaced, including the cutting line for customized sizes. In the Mechanical Department, a second machining center and an automatic cutting line were purchased. Work began on the installation of a new automatic die storage warehouse. The Energy Department was introduced for the commercialization of branded products and electric energy storage systems with lithium batteries.
In 2020, the automatic die storage warehouse was completed and consolidated, and a new and efficient machining center was installed in the Mechanical Department to meet various processing demands. In the same year, due to the COVID-19 emergency, the Alumask Department was opened to be self-sufficient and ensure the supply of this commodity in the Republic of San Marino.
Launch of the second extrusion press in Italy under Tecnoal srl, a company under the direction and coordination of Alutitan spa. The new plant located in Sant'Ippolito (PU) covers an operational area of a 38,000 square meters, of which 19,000 square meters are covered. The 3,000-ton press is capable of extruding 9-inch billets and has a production capacity of 20,000 tons per year. It is possible to use alloys 6060, 6063, 6082, 6005A, 6101.
